Dhaba Chana Daal - It's Finger Lickin' Good!

Ingredients:
Chana daal 1 cup (soaked for 1.5-2 hours)
Oil half cup
Fried onions 3tbsp ( i used store bought)
Tomatoes 2 medium
Ginger garlic paste 1.5tbsp
Zeera 1tsp
Bhuna kuta dhania 1/2tsp
Curry leaves 5-6
Red chilli powder 1.5-2tsp
Dhania powder 1tsp
Haldi 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Sookhi methi 1tsp
Black pepper powder and garam masala powder 1/2tsp each
Green chillies whole 4-5
Green coriander
Mint leaves
Method:
Boil chana daal with some salt till it's completely tender but maintains its shape. Should have some water leftover.
In a karhaai, heat oil, add zeera and bhuna kuta dhania let them crackle. Then add curry leaves, ginger garlic paste, fried onions and chopped tomatoes. Bhoonofy well. Next add red chilli powder, salt, dhania powder and haldi and bhoonofy till you can smell the aroma and the tomatoes and onions are all mushy.
Then add the methi leaves and whole green chillies and cook for some more time. Then add boiled daal with its water and let it cook till the daal has its desired consistency. In the end sprinkle black pepper, garam masala powder, a few mint leaves and coriander leaves.
Serve with tandoor ki roti, shami kabab and achaar.
