Cooking Confession-A Pakistani Girl's struggle To Make Desi Food

The ABCD In Me:
There's nothing like trying your immature hands at kitchen for the first time . It makes you feel like a huge ABCD. That's short for 'A Born Confused Desi'. No clue what to cook? How to cook? Then, one thing hits in mind is 'Andaaza-Andaaza'. Typically Desi totka every Pakistani girl use for the first time.

What Is This Andaaza Andaaza?
As every desi girl knows, when we try to learn how to cook with our elders we're given the dangerously-inconsistent-scientifically-inaccurate-yet-mysteriously-alluring unit of measurement known as andaaza. WHAT the HECK is this? Roughly translated it means "use your good judgment." The problem with a Desi girl is, she is a beginner cook and  don't have any good judgment. Tell her an amount in tsps and tbsps and cups and she'll measure that. Tell her andaaza and she'll add a pinch, then maybe more, then maybe sprinkle some again, and then another pinch, and then ultimately decide she screwed it up.
Nevertheless, One day every Pakistani girl will understand what really andaaza means.
